Summer!

After spending a few amazing days at the beach house in Punta del Este we finally made our way home to Montevideo :)
Thurs we made a HUGE thanksgiving feast...fabulous...but we did not have turkey :( We planned on eating around 6, so at about 10 pm we started dishing up the food...haha I am really going to miss the laid back scheduling!!
This coming week I'm going to be busing around more of Uruguay and checking out many of the beach towns of the coastline...Uruguay has so much to offer!! This country is absolutely spectacular...the beaches are pristine, but North Americans are not known to travel extensively in Latin America, so its left for alot of Latinos as well as many Europeans.
It is so hot here right now...I don't know how much longer I can go without air conditioning! Oh well...I guess I"ll just have to tolerate the sunshine ;)

EXPLOTO

BUENOS AIRES WAS INCREDIBLE.
I had to go through customs and as I got up to the desk I realized I forgot my visa...and accidently replaced it with my vaccination paper..so I had to pay about 30 dollars for a new visa :/...luckily I was still able to leave the country! I started freaking out, but this whole country is so dang calm that all of the customs officials just said "tranquila!!" (calm down!) and assured me everything was fine.
The concert was incredible. It was outdoors in a huge field and there were 5 different stages hosting different electronica bands. I got to see David Guetta and Fat Boy Slim...SO INSANE!!!! The concert started around 3, so of course we arrived around midnight and danced in the center of the moshpit until about 8 am when the concert ended...I could barely walk by the time the sun came up!!
The weather was incredible and I met some really amazing people--we ended up staying at a really nice hostel. It was great!
I returned Sunday evening and took a final Monday afternoon and today. I have another one Wed, a presentation Thurs, and another final Friday--then I'm done with that part of Uruguay! I still have to get alot of my Spring/Winter registration stuff taken care of even though I'm preparing for summer here!!

Creamfields!!

Rachel wants to know a few things:
I am eating potatoes, sweet potatoes, salad, lentils, rice, eggs, chicken, and delicious cuts of meat.
The weather is warm warm hot and beautiful.
I cannot believe my time is almost up...but life is full of these kinds of things. There is way to much to process and I don't want to think about it just yet.

On another note, I have to give a 90 minute presentation this Friday with 2 of my friends on a short story we read and then a film that is based around the story. So YES grandpa, I had to read a story IN SPANISH, watch a film IN SPANISH, and talk IN SPANISH for 90 minutes about existentialism and Biblical references....wish me luck.

After that I'm hoppin on a bus for about 2 hours then a boat for about 2 hours to go to Buenos Aires for the weekend! I'm going to creamfields (creamfieldsba.com) which is a giant music fest---its going to be awesome!! I'll be returning late Sunday and then finals week starts that Monday....oh dear :)

lowww down

Soooo

Tuesday we didn't have classes for Day of the Dead so Monday night we had a giant asado. I have no idea how I got this lucky: we went to a very nice neighborhood and about fifteen 20-25 year-old of my good (and good-looking) Uruguayan guy friends grilled us all steaks, sausage and chicken all for about 8 dollars (drinks/snacks included). Asados are the best thing ever invented :) SO DELICIOUSSS and they last from about 10 til 3-4 am.
That said, I spent all Tuesday morning in bed and then went to the beach all day....I did do some homework though!!
The rest of the week was spent catching up on all of the things that I'm really goodat putting off (aka homework/tests). Today we're going out for Kate's 22nd birthday to get some GREAT cheesy fries and then tomorrow morning I leave early for Punta del Este. It is so hot here that I got sick from the heat the other day...and its just spring. People are still in sweaters here and jeans....I am dying in a tank top!
Last night we went out for Mexican food at a good restaurant. It was good, but this country is notorious for the lack of spice (and lack of ability to make good Mexican food). ..it was delicious but not hot at all...dang!!

rapraprapido

I have been swamped with tests and presentations...ugh. I'm in the last 2 weeks of classes and things have definitely been picking up speed.

Needless to say,
I'm still alive and doing well
